ABOUT THE BRAND

Andrea Kader is a clothing brand based in Costa Rica, founded in late 2019 with the purpose of raising environmental awareness through sustainable fashion and creating meaningful garments that feel good on the body and last through the years.

Each piece is designed with intention — made from natural fibers and crafted with care in small productions that value quality over quantity. Our process is rooted in sustainability: we prioritize ethical manufacturing, thoughtful pattern-making, and the responsible use of materials.

Some of our pieces are made from natural textiles, while others are created through upcycling — transforming discarded fabrics into new, one-of-a-kind designs. Today, we continue to integrate both approaches, seeing them as part of the same commitment to conscious creation and respect for resources.

Every collection tells a story and reflects a balance of structure and ease, combining versatility with a relaxed, timeless feel. We design clothes meant to be lived in — pieces that carry meaning, age beautifully, and stay in rotation for years to come.

Andrea Kader es una marca de ropa con base en Costa Rica, fundada a finales de 2019 con el propósito de generar conciencia ambiental a través de la moda sostenible y crear prendas con significado, que se sientan bien en el cuerpo y perduren con el tiempo.

Cada pieza se diseña con intención — confeccionada con fibras naturales y producida en pequeñas cantidades que priorizan la calidad sobre la cantidad. Nuestro proceso parte de un enfoque sostenible: damos importancia a la confección ética, al diseño consciente y al uso responsable de los materiales.

Algunas de nuestras prendas están hechas con textiles naturales, mientras que otras nacen a través del proceso de upcycling, transformando materiales descartados en diseños únicos e irrepetibles. Hoy integramos ambos enfoques como parte del mismo compromiso con la creación consciente y el respeto por los recursos.

ARTIST STATEMENT

The unconventional is what inspires me.

A red toilet in the middle of the street, a jacket worn inside out, a dog wearing booties, and other situations like these fuel my creativity. Everything is already invented but things can be reinterpreted, transformed, and redeveloped.

I deconstruct in order to understand how things are made. My favorite tool is my scissors. I use them to collage knit and woven fabrics and combine pieces that are not meant to go together.

I find beauty in the misplacement of details and in the art of repetition. I treasure the local, the handmade, and the authentic. I upcycle and repurpose. Street wear, thrift shopping, and visiting art galleries are my favorite ways of brainstorming for new ideas.

I care about the world and the environment. I pay attention to how things are manufactured and treated. I see sustainability as a vital element of my life and this is communicated through my work. I want my clothing to be worn on the street on a daily basis. I want my customer to feel comfortable, confident, and cool.

I design to make things better and make people feel better. I design to solve problems, create content, and express social and personal matters.
